The #SeriousPlayChallenge encouraged current and prospective students, faculty, and staff to illustrate what Serious Play looks like for them in the context of their work in the #NUSoC communications space.

The challenge started December 2022 and ran through January 2023. It was a chance for the SoC community to interact with and encourage each other. The Dean's Advisory Council helped to create and promote the challenge.

February 2023 one grand prize winners and two runner-up winners we announced.

Grand Prize

Mark Park, a theatre major graduating in 2025, submitted a photo essay on his work.

First Runner-Up

Cydney Brown, a communication studies major graduating in 2026, submitted a spoken word piece.

Second Runner-Up

Zachary Fox, a communication studies major graduating in 2023, submitted a video essay.
