Northwestern School of Communication

Career Services

Balancing academic learning and real-world experience, the School of Communication connects students to the Office of External Programs, Internships, and Career Services (EPICS) as a resource for students interested in career coaching, alumni networking and more.

External Programs, Internships, and Career Services

The Office of External Programs, Internships, and Career Services (EPICS) serves as a bridge between industry thought leaders and over 1,500 dedicated School of Communication students through engaging programming and events. EPICS career coaches prepare students for life after Northwestern through individualized, one-on-one career coaching. EPICS supports six graduate programs and 20 undergraduate learning communities surrounding the disciplines of communication arts and sciences, healthcare, film, sound, creative, and media industries.

Undergraduate Majors and Minors

EPICS provides career programming for undergraduate students in radio, television, film, communication studies, dance, human communication sciences, performance studies, and theatre. In addition to these majors, EPICS plays a key role in providing experiential learning and professional development activities for undergraduates in one of the 19 modular learning communities.

Graduate Students

EPICS provides one-on-one career coaching, workshops, and experiential opportunities for five diverse master's programs focusing on the creative arts, communication, and leadership.

Events

Whether through alumni talks, employer site visits, or small workshops with industry leaders, EPICS engages with the Northwestern community in Evanston, Chicago, and the world. Connect early and often with leading employers, alumni, and industry professionals through one of our events.

Career Coaching

The EPICS team is available to provide coaching on career assets like your resume/cover letter, career planning & strategy, job/internship searches, networking, and more.
