Computing Requirements
Hardware Requirements
To enroll and participate in the Audiology and Speech Language and Learning programs, students must use a laptop computer (PC or Mac) with at least:
- CPU processor Intel i5 or equivalent or above to support the operating system and applications
- 8 GB of memory (RAM) or more
- 512 GB or larger storage or additional external storage may be needed for course-related files
- Internal or external webcam with integrated microphone
- Audio output device to play sound

M365 Account Sign-In
Microsoft 365 is available to all students for both PC and Mac upon registering for a class in the current or following academic term.
Sign-in to Microsoft (M365) account using your student NetID or primary Northwestern email address and password. The user account and password was provided during the enrollment process.

Global Protect VPN
Wireless Network Connection
eduroam is the campus wireless network at Northwestern University. Northwestern participates in eduroam (education roaming), a secure federated wireless network for the international research and education community.
nucasll is the dedicated wireless network at the Northwestern NUCASLL building and available on the basement level of the Frances Searle building. The nucasll wireless network is the required connection when working at the NUCASLL clinic and classroom. To connect, select the Wi-Fi name “nucasll” in place of “eduroam”

Video Audio Learning Tool (VALT)

Remote Desktop Connection (RDP)
RDP is a Microsoft protocol that allows students to connect to a Northwestern remote computer from their own computer through the university network. An RDP connection is required to sign-in to the Electronic Health System called, HearForm.
Enter Computer name:

Username: soc\NetID
Password: [enter the NetID password]
HearForm (EMR- Electronic Medical Record System)
