Susan Lee is the founding director of the Dance Program in the Department of Theatre at Northwestern University. She is the author of numerous articles and chapters on dance and dancers. Lee founded the journal American Dance for the American Dance Guild and was founding director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts (CIRA) at Northwestern. She co-sponsored the Jazz Dance World Congress and The First International Argentine Tango Congress. Lee has served on the board of Medical Program for Performing Artists of Northwestern's Rehabilitation Institute and national dance organizations including the American Dance Guild and the Chicago Dance Coalition. She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Medical Problems of Performing Artists and has served on regional and local peer review panels as a dance professional and presenter.
