
Professor Dun is an associate professor of instruction in the communication studies department. She teaches courses in health communication, theories of relational communication, sport communication, persuasion, and public speaking. Professor Dun’s research focuses on the strategic use of communication to influence behavioral change in health, safety, and sport, including the precursors of and effectiveness of interventions designed to influence sports and health mindsets and behaviors. Doing formative research and developing message-based interventions to inform and encourage healthy attitudes and behaviors is a key component of her research, which has included migrant worker health, driving safety, and Muslim women’s participation in sports and physical activity.
