Mariah Morton-Jones

Mariah Morton-Jones is a speech-language pathologist, specializing in the assessment and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders. She received two BAs from Emory University in Spanish and Linguistics and earned her MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Kentucky before completing a voice specialized CF at the USC Voice Center in Los Angeles, CA. She completed her PhD in the School of Kinesiology at Auburn University where she was co-advised by the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. During her doctoral journey, she maintained part-time employment as a clinician at the UAB Voice Center. Given Mariah’s background, her research is intrinsically interdisciplinary. Her research interests are at the intersection of exercise physiology and vocal function as well as related to healthcare disparities for racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse people as well as rural-living individuals in need of SLP-specific voice and upper airway care.
