Joshua Rains

Born and raised in small-town Oklahoma, Joshua Rains has a visual practice that emphasizes conceptual drawing, sculpture, and performance—all through a queer, rural lens. Based in Chicago after a three-year relocation to Los Angeles, he received his MFA in 2018 from the University of Southern California, Roski School of Art and Design, before holding a post-MFA teaching fellowship at USC from 2018-2019. His work has been exhibited nationally at ACRE Projects in Chicago, IL, Klowden Mann and Rude Drawing in Los Angeles, CA, and Kunstraum in Brooklyn, NY as well as internationally at Tijuana Performera, in Tijuana, Mexico.
