Harold E. Gulley advises students in the Communication Studies major from their first quarter in the program through graduation. He is experienced in working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and focuses on the individual needs and goals of each student, including those who transfer into the major and those pursuing dual degrees. Helping empower students to navigate administrative structures and resources at Northwestern is a priority, along with helping prepare them to succeed in careers or graduate study. He also advises students in two modules: Digital Media and Strategic and Organizational Communication. In addition, he organizes and coordinates the School of Communication’s annual student recruitment and orientation events: Wildcat Days, Wildcat Welcome, and Family Weekend.
His scholarly research and teaching emphasize the role of changing technology in cartography, as well as features of cultural landscapes and transportation networks.
